Paros is located at the centre of the Cyclades islands, one of the most popular for a relaxing holiday at affordable prices. You can truly unwind on this island while appreciating the supreme scenery including sandy beaches with turquoise water and untouched traditional Greek villages.
Money saving tips
Paros is relatively affordable compared to its neighbouring islands Santorini and Mykonos – you can find great deals and offers on the island.
Book ferries early – Especially during the peak season ferry prices will rise if you do not book them in advance, you can save up to 25% off the cost of your ticket. This is recommended during the high summer months especially when prices increase.
Avoid taxis– The buses do not run frequent on the island but it is possible to get around on bus if you do your research. If you arrive by ferry you can get a bus for 1.80 euro from the port into the main town of Naoussa. This is the cheapest way to get around – if you want to explore the island it is cheaper to rent an ATV for a day (or more). The cost of a return taxi will exceed the day rate for an ATV.
Food and Drink Deals– Stick to the local wine for delicious flavours and at reasonable prices – you can get half a litre of local wine for 4 euro even at restaurants. Eating in local villages for a reduced rate when compared to Naoussa. The service is not as good as you may find in the main town but the food is delicious and cheap.
Book flights in advance– Flights to Paros can be expensive, as they only run from Athens into the island – if you want to find cheaper flights you need to book these in advance. As always, use Skyscanner.
